Movie premiere: First orbit

50 years ago, Yuri Gagarin was world's first man in space go. What to see it? He described it quite well, but there are limited images and no image of his time in orbit. Now, high-definition has woven through a unique collaboration between a filmmaker and ESA astronaut Paolo Nespoli on board the international space station, video of what Gagarin could have seen together with historical recordings of the flight (subtitles in English) were to create a new, free movie called "First orbit", which has now been released. This movie is a real-time recreation of Yuri Gagarin's pioneering first orbit, fully in place from aboard the international space station shot. The film combines this new footage with Gagarin's mission original and a new score by composer Philip Sheppard. See the first orbit Web site for more information about the film.

The @ Twitter feed first orbit is the original communication in the "real" time (50 years later) on April 12 tweet, recreating the events as Gagarin on Vostok 1 flew 07-7 flew from 6:: 55 UTC.
