A Russian Soyuz launch spaceship from the same launch pad of Yuri Gagarin when he was blasted 50 years ago from the cosmodrome Baikonur in Kazakhstan the first man in space, just a week shy of April used 12 anniversary. The launch took place in good time on April 5, 2010 4: 18: 20 pm local time (6: 6:20 pm EDT on April 4.), sending two cosmonauts and a NASA astronaut on the international space station: Soyuz Commander Alexander Samokutyaev, flight engineer Andrey Borisenko and NASA astronaut Ron Garan. The rocket carried the image (see below) and name of Gagarin, to celebrate its historic flight.
