April showers? Yes! 16, 26 Leads in this month of April Lyrid meteor shower, a peak on April 22 occur.

The meteors in this shower tend to be bright and persistent trains leave how they do in the Earth's atmosphere. In recent years, the shower has on average 10 to 20 meteors per hour.

You may think that this sounds like a pretty mediocre shower and not value with upsets, but it quickly is known for the lyriden and prices surge rise to more than 100 per hour! This is what makes it so interesting and difficult to predict this shower. Will it be this year or not a Biggy?

Lyrid meteors rays from a point (radiant) in the constellation is lyre and this, where this shower gets its name. Finding the best time Lyrid meteors is late in the evening on 22 April to 10 am as constellation Lyra from the northeastern Horizon collects.

This will give you 2 or 3 hours of the Meteor just before the waning gibbous Moon rises and starts, wash out the sky. But still it is value stay up to see so many bright meteors, as possible.
